The most efficacious sacrament and most potent tool in the Hounnan's repertoire is the bath.

The bath purifies.

The bath baptize.

The bath anoints.

The bath frees us from diseases and curses.

Each vodou has their own recipes, methods, and prayers for certain baths.

The Mami baths are rarely steaming tubs of scented water and no bath has you luxuriate in the impurities you've just washed off.
