Politics... again.

Back in August I made a post about being politically active to ensure the practice of our religion was not infringed upon. Well here it is November and over the last two years we've seen attempts to suppress and re write history, curtail racial and gender equality, and criminalize sexual autonomy far too successful for a thinking creature to be comfortable with.

Vodou sanctifies actions, if you do nothing you get nothing. We don't have a pie in the sky overlord who will reward indolence and the acceptance of the worst possible outcomes. That is anathema. We have a duty to avoid human bloodshed, but this is only possible if we use the tools of peaceful conflict resolution available to us. We must either cultivate an economic presence, a political presence, or leave the U.S. . There is no other way to protect ourselves and our loved ones without turning to violence.

I am myself a fan of interfaith initiatives, partnering with Obeah, Wiccans, Atheists, Asatru, Anti Theocratic Abrahamics, First Nation traditions, and the like to create a voting block that undermines initiatives that explicitly or implicitly establishes a religious justification for legislative action. Political action to preserve our First Amendment Rights is all I'm concerned with.

Hmmmm, perhaps I should actually get on that.
